Kristie and Jason‘s Huntington Beach wedding balanced SoCal luxury with traditional Vietnamese elements.
Kristie and her bridesmaids got ready at an AirBnb in Huntington Beach, just blocks from the ocean. They wore matching silk robes, and Kristie was glowing in white while the rest of the girls looked gorgeous in blush. Before Kristie got dressed, they popped some Veuve Clicquot to celebrate the day ahead!
Upstairs, Kristie slipped into her stunning Calla Blanche gown. Naturally, its delicate lace and beading perfectly complimented the romance of this southern California wedding.
The bridesmaids wore mismatched gowns in a palette of champagne, blush, and dusty rose.
Cream and gold invitations from Minted also set the tone for this blush-toned SoCal wedding. A gold wax seal with the initials J|K added a personal touch.
We then headed over to SeaCliff Country Club and found a lovely little walkway for their first look. After soaking in the moment of seeing each other for the first time that day, Kristie and Jason read each other’s vows.
Their SeaCliff Country Club wedding ceremony took place on the patio overlooking the golf course. Flower girls wore pink and green flower crowns, and walked down the aisle with the ring bearers.
The wood and floral arch from the ceremony also made a great backdrop for Kristie and Jason’s family portraits!
Photography was a huge priority for Kristie and Jason, so they planned extra time between their ceremony and reception. We headed to Huntington Beach Central Park with the wedding party in tow. Normally on a wedding day I am working with a very finite amount of time for portraits, so I was thrilled to have the extra time! It was a nice change of pace and gave me the space to capture lots of moments for them.
Next, was their reception at The Venue by Three Petals. This Southern California wedding venue provided a blank slate to which they were able to add their own vision for the day. Guests entered through the front courtyard, and were soon to be enjoying a seven course traditional Asian meal!
The reception tables were adorned with a mix of high and low centerpieces, and a selection of wines and Johnnie Walker. Clear candelabras lined the head table where Kristie and Jason dined with their wedding party. Above the dance floor, a luxurious chandelier of white flowers provided a focal point for the room. Guests also enjoyed a decadent dessert table, complete with cake pops, macarons and more!
Kristie and Jason changed into traditional Vietnamese outfits and greeted guests at each table — a Vietnamese custom called “chào bàn” — during which they were gifted envelopes and affection from all their guests. Then they changed back into their original outfits and danced the night away!
