Summer and Mitch’s Italian-inspired wedding at Walnut Grove was everything they had dreamed of—laid-back, beautiful, and filled with joy. The color palette of white, yellow, and blue was a nod to the Italian coast, and the day focused on great food and a stress-free experience for all.
A Proposal in Ojai & an Engagement Session at Griffith Observatory
Summer and Mitch share a love for the outdoors, so it was only fitting that their journey to “I do” included some of California’s most scenic spots. Mitch proposed during Summer’s 30th birthday trip to Ojai, a moment he had planned for a while—but that didn’t stop the nerves from kicking in! He was so anxious leading up to the big question that Summer noticed he kept sipping his drink a little more than usual. But when the time came, everything was perfect, and of course, Summer said yes!
Before their wedding, we captured their love with a sunrise engagement session at Griffith Observatory. The foggy morning made for some breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Coastal Italian-Inspired Details & Laid-Back Vibes
When it came time to plan their wedding, Summer and Mitch wanted to bring a piece of Italy coast to their California celebration. Walnut Grove at Tierra Rejada Farms, with its towering trees and lush outdoor setting, was the perfect venue to create that dreamy, romantic atmosphere.
The day began with Summer and her bridesmaids getting ready at the beautiful Westlake Village Inn. They toasted to the bride with some Italian LaMarca prosecco, then headed to the venue.
Their ceremony felt straight out of a European garden, with white mums, yellow ranunculus, and soft buttery roses framing the altar.
From start to finish, every detail enhanced the Italian-inspired wedding aesthetic. The bridesmaids wore blue and white floral dresses, a beautiful nod to classic hand-painted Italian tiles. At the reception, tables were decorated with bright yellow lemons, a signature element of the Amalfi Coast, which added a fresh and vibrant touch. As a parting favor at the end of the evening, guests received olive tree saplings with tags that read “Let Love Grow.”
Summer and Mitch’s vision for their wedding was simple: a stress-free day with amazing food, great music, and an unforgettable experience for their guests. And that’s exactly what they got. Guests dined under Walnut Grove’s signature bistro lights, enjoying an atmosphere that felt both elegant and effortless. The night was filled with laughter, dancing, and the kind of energy that only comes from celebrating with the people you love most.
