High school sweethearts Haley and Robert had a dreamy summer wedding in Ventura County. From getting ready, to dancing the night away, one thing was clear — these two love each other and love to have fun!
The pair first met in high school, and from there, their love story spans more than 7 years. From a romance that blossomed in high school, to attending college together, and eventually a cliffside proposal in Palos Verdes — the wedding marked the next chapter in an already incredible journey.
Getting Ready at Westlake Village Inn
Haley and Robert started their wedding day at the stunning Westlake Village Inn, a European-inspired retreat perfect for a relaxed yet elegant morning. Haley got ready surrounded by her closest friends and family in a stunning suite — The Villa. Its palatial two floors provided ample space for lounging, pampering, and taking photos. Before heading to the venue, the couple shared a heartfelt first look on the grounds of the inn. It was a quiet, intimate moment just for them before the excitement of the day truly began.
Ceremony & Reception at Walnut Grove
Nestled in the hills of Moorpark, Walnut Grove is known for its towering walnut trees, charming outdoor ceremony space, and dreamy golden-hour light. Haley and Robert’s wedding design embraced the venue’s natural beauty, with a soft, romantic color palette that complemented the lush surroundings.
I’ve photographed many weddings at Walnut Grove over the years, and love seeing how the trees change season-to-season. For this dreamy July wedding, the trees were bursting with green leaves.
Haley and Robert’s beloved pups, Mackey (@mackeytheshepsky), and Luca, made a special appearance to celebrate with their humans. The two huskies graciously posed for a few photos after the ceremony, and looked dapper in their bowties.
The reception was pure magic. Under the glow of Walnut Grove’s signature bistro lights, guests enjoyed heartfelt toasts and a packed dance floor. The love and energy in the air were undeniable, a reflection of the bond these two have shared for years. The epic dessert table was a sweet ending to the night.
