Lauren and Coulton were introduced to me through a mutual friend, which is always the most fun way to get to meet.
These two used to live in Marina del Rey, during which time they’d enjoy walks at the Venice Canals! So, we decided a hybrid Venice Canals and Playa Vista engagement session would be the perfect combo to represent both where they used to live, as well as an area close to their current home.
Lauren was glowing in her yellow maxi skirt from Morning Lavender, which complimented Coulton’s blue suit.
Their goldendoodle, Brody, also came dressed the part with a blue plaid bowtie! Not only is Brody a big ( and fluffy!) part of their lives, but he was there when Coulton asked Lauren to marry him.
Coulton proposed over Thanksgiving last year. Lauren’s family was in town, and Coulton was looking for the right moment to pop the question, without a room full of people. So, right after taking Brody out for a morning walk, he seized the opportunity and asked!
After engagement photos at the Venice Canals, we headed over to Playa Vista where we had this trail totally to ourselves.
Thanks to all the rain we’ve been getting, the flowers were out in full force! We stumbled upon this gorgeous patch of yellow blooms.
Lauren and Coulton changed outfits for our second location (I’m obsessed with Lauren’s blush dress from Lulu’s!), and even dog Brody opted for a more casual bandana for his second look.
As the grand finale to their Venice Canals and Playa Vista engagement session, Lauren and Coulton toasted with some bubbles!
…only after a very celebratory “pop” of course!
Cheers to these two! They are currently planning a destination wedding for 2020!
