Calamigos Ranch offers 4 different but equally charming areas for hosting weddings

Calamigos Ranch has a rich history dating back to 1937 when it was founded by Greek immigrant Grant Gerson as a restaurant and riding stable. The word ‘Calamigos’ is a Chumash Indian word meaning “Come as my brother, come as my friend,” and pays respect to the sacred land upon which Calamigos Ranch was founded. Over the years, the ranch expanded its offerings to include guest cottages and event spaces, becoming a beloved retreat for visitors seeking a tranquil escape from LA city life.

THE REDWOOD ROOM

At The Redwood Room, majestic natural beauty abounds. On the lawn, ceremonies take place surrounded by eucalyptus trees, redwoods, and 100-year old oaks. After walking down the aisle, you’ll walk up the stone steps and stand before your loved ones to say your vows. The indoor banquet hall greets guests with a warm and inviting natural stone fireplace, while tall ceilings and large windows fill the space with lots of natural light. The Redwood Room makes for an elegant event with lots of rustic charm reminiscent of the Ranch’s original lodge. 

THE OAK ROOM

At The Oak Room, a large natural stone waterfall and serene pond create an intimate ceremony location on the outdoor deck. After symbolically crossing over the pond’s bridge, you’ll enter the indoor banquet room to dine and dance the night away. The beautiful outdoor setting is seamlessly blended with the indoor reception space, where exposed beams, rustic iron chandeliers, and 360-degree French oak doors let in lots of natural light. Between the romantic twinkling lights, and the warm glow of the Oak Room’s river rock fireplace, it’s sure to be an unforgettable evening. 

THE PAVILION

MAX CAPACITY: 500 guests
The Pavilion is the largest event space at Malibu’s Calamigos Ranch. Ceremonies take place underneath the beauty of a majestic California Oak tree, which at night comes alive with twinkling lights hanging from its decades-old branches. A multi-level waterfall and pond offer tranquil sounds and create an enchanting environment for your wedding day. Acres of green meadow and tall redwoods will transport your guests into another world. After the ceremony you can stroll through the family-owned vineyards as you walk to the modern farmhouse pavilion for your reception where Calamigos’ iconic ferris wheel can be seen in the distance. 

THE BIRCHWOOD ROOM

MAX CAPACITY: 135 guests
The Birchwood Room is the most intimate setting for weddings at Calamigos Ranch. A private meadow with a stone waterfall in the background provides an idyllic setting for couples to exchange their vows. Following cocktail hour on the lawn, wood stairs lead guests up to the outdoor patio where you’ll have flexible options for reception seating. Your guests can dine al fresco on the deck, underneath the twinkling lights hanging from the oak tree above, or the event can flow inside which also offers a warm and intimate ambiance.
