Perched on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, Terranea Resort offers breathtaking oceanfront views for couples seeking a distinguished Southern California wedding venue. The sprawling resort also offers luxurious accommodations, making it a premier destination for a wedding near Los Angeles.
I love that Terranea offers the feeling of a destination wedding, without leaving the LA area. Located only 20 miles from LAX, guests can experience panoramic ocean views and enjoy top notch dining options from this cliff top luxury resort. Whether your guests are locals or coming in from out of state, they will want to stay for a weekend getaway.
As a wedding photographer, I’ve seen so many cramped and dark hotel rooms. Terranea, however, offers incredible spaces for getting ready. The casitas and villas boast more than 2,000 sq. feet of natural-light drenched space for getting ready on your wedding day, and offer the comfort of a private residence.
A short downhill walk from the main resort, you’ll find yourself at Terranea Beach Cove, a secluded cliff-lined beach. The cove at Terranea, and the beautiful nature trails throughout the resort, are an excellent place for bride and groom portraits without having to leave hotel grounds.
Couples planning a luxury Palos Verdes wedding can choose from gorgeous lawns and distinguished ballrooms at Terranea Resort
Terranea Resort, a luxury destination in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, has a history that spans several decades. Before it became a resort, the land was home to the Marineland of the Pacific, a popular oceanarium and tourist attraction that was open from 1954 to 1987. After Marineland closed, the land was purchased and extensive development of the resort began.
Designed to blend into the natural coastal landscape, sustainability has always been at the forefront for the resort’s initiatives. During its construction, no land was removed and many materials used were recycled from pre-existing structures. Today the resort has more than 14 acres of restored native habitat, with hiking and walking trails prevalent throughout the grounds.
Terranea spans over 102 acres and offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Since officially opening its doors in June 2009, it has become a SoCal landmark for both locals and world-travelers alike, and has become a highly acclaimed venue for luxury weddings in Southern California.
